We’re excited to announce FABRE TP’s participation in EAAP 2025 with a dedicated session:

Session 40 – The Future of the Animal Breeding Sector in the EU: The Role of Academia and the Private Sector

FABRE TP is pleased to welcome two new members to its Board, strengthening our commitment to expertise and balanced representation across sectors.

This year our annual meetings are taking place from Monday 20th May 2025 to Wednesday 22nd May 2025 in Brussels, Belgium. 

FABRE TP has a long tradition of organizing challenge sessions at the EAAP Conference, often in collaboration with the Genetics Commission. In 2024, we co-organized the session with the Health and Welfare EAAP Commission, titled “Welfare versus Genetic Progress.” We extend our gratitude to EAAP and the chairs of both Commissions for their joint effort.

The 2024 EAAP Annual Meeting featured a high-level session on “The Role of Bioinformatics Applied to Livestock Data” on Sunday afternoon at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Florence. Among the highlights was a presentation by Frédéric Debode (CRA-W) introducing the GenEdit database—an open-source tool developed within the DETECTIVE project to collect and organise data on genome-edited organisms.

FABRE TP will be participating at EAAP's Annual Meeting coming up in September in Florence, Italy.  Naomi Duijvesteijn, Chair of FABRE TP and Flaviana Gottardo, Padova University will be chairing our joint challenge session of AH&W – Genetics EAAP Study Commissions and FABRE TP "Animal welfare versus Genetic progress?  Is genetic progress the problem, or can it be part of the solution for better animal welfare?".
