In this joint challenge session of AH&W – Genetics and FABRE TP, we will discuss Animal Breeding and Genetics and Animal Welfare in future sustainable livestock systems. We want to invite experts to have constructive debates on the role of animal genetics on the current welfare of animals, and how animal welfare can be enhanced and considered in future breeding programmes.

In collaboration with the EAAP Genetics and PLF Commissions, FABRE TP organises this challenge session to engage with research, academia, and the private sector in a discussion on the growing role of Big Data in livestock production and the challenges for breeding companies and research.

Young Scientist Career Development & FABRE TP session at WCGALP 2022 in Rotterdam

In the context of the 2021 EAAP topic “Scientific solutions to different demands on the livestock sector”, FABRE TP will be hosting the session “Breeding for the future: technology finds application in new phenotypes”. The session will be held on the morning of September 1st, both in person and online. The FABRE TP session at EAAP is a challenge session that aims to engage research, academia, and the private sector in discussion.

​FABRE TP session on Genome editing was held on 28 August during EAAP 2019 in Ghent, Belgium. We welcomed speakers to discuss the techniques, opportunities and boundaries of Genome Editing in animal breeding and current and potential future legal framework and ethics.
